PDF417 Encoder
Silver Bay Software's PDF417 Encoder creates PDF417 bar code print streams for desktop, mid-range and mainframe platforms. PDF417 is a high-capacity two-dimensional barcode capable of storing any binary or textual information. Industry applications for PDF417 include driver's licenses, ID cards, EDI, insurance cards and any other situation in which a large amount of machine-readable data must be printed in a small area.
Portable Data File 417, or PDF417, is a multi-row, variable-length symbology offering high data capacity and error-correction capability for real-world applications where portions of symbols can get destroyed in handling. PDF417 symbols can be scanned by linear scanners, rastering laser scanners, or two-dimensional imaging devices.
The PDF417 product offering from Silver Bay Software includes mainframe, mid-range and UNIX platform libraries for building PDF417 barcodes. Many high-speed printers are supported, including most IBM, Xerox, and Hewlett-Packard page printers.
The encoder product includes the following features:
- An improved easier-to-use API for passing UPS-required information
- No file I/O necessary
- Improved performance
- Improved documentation and sample code
